Hello! Week 6 is here, and that means bye weeks are upon you. Roster management will begin to separate your league’s win percentage like layers in a cake. From now until the playoffs who you pick, keep, and release will be of even more importance, but who you PLAY and PINE will be the decisions that get you through difficult weeks.

Week 6 Plays:

D/ST — The L.A. Rams have been a decent defense in reality, but a poor D/ST for Fantasy Football. They are currently the 22nd ranked D/ST in the FanatsyFootball7s Charity league, and likely around there in most formats. They are playing the New York Giants without Barkley, and if Jones does play it will be without a full week of practice. Let’s not forget Aaron Donald is playing against a weak offensive line, and coming off of 10 days of rest and preparation.

The Miami Dolphins have not lived up to their 2021 expectations, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. This is a get right game if there ever was, playing against the Jags in London. Tua could be back, which should help in T.O.P (Time of Possession). There Dolphins could have a monster game behind multiple turnovers.

Deeper Leagues: Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers

KickersMatt Gay (LAR) is suddenly questionable, but don’t remove him from your lineup. He practiced Wednesday and Thursday, and he should get several points between point after and field goal attempts. Play him.

Deeper Leagues: Mason Crobsy (GB), Evan McPherson (CIN)

DLJonathan Allen (WAS) is quietly having an excellent year, despite most of the off-season hype being focused on teammates Chase Young and Montez Sweat. He has 22 tackles and 3 sacks through 5 games which, is a little above average. He really gets points from his NFL 3rd ranked 12 QB hits. Even if he doesn’t sack Mahomes, he should hit him a few times.

Deeper Leagues: Cameron Heyward (PIT), Charles Harris (DET)

LB — We are doubling down with the Miami Dolphins this week. Jerome Baker (MIA) is the 20th ranked LB, behind stats all over the chart and 34 tackles. The tackle volume should be there, as J-Rob should run often.

Deeper Leagues: AJ Johnson (DEN), I. Simmons (ARI)

DB Logan Ryan (NYG) is in for a long night. One of the most versatile IDPs in the league has been asked to help more in the run game since the loss of LB B. Martinez. He has done a marvelous job, 43 tackles (just under 9 per game!) and 2 passes defended. The Rams defense should have several ‘3 and outs’ meaning more snaps for Ryan.

Deeper Leagues: Vonn Bell (CIN), Harrison Smith (MIN)

Week 6 Pines:

Byes: Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers remove all from your starting lineups.

D/ST — The Chicago Bears are the 3rd ranked D/ST. There is not a logical reason to ever start a D/ST against the highest scoring offense over the past 2.5 seasons. As a defensive coordinator you have nightmares about facing Aaron Rodgers, be it NFL or fantasy football. Pine and snag one of the 3 D/ST.

The Cleveland Browns are ranked 4th, but have a tough draw against the red hot Cardinals this week, and 10th ranked New England has Dak and the Boys coming to town, pine them both.

KickersRodrigo Blakenship (IND) missed a field goal attempt, and he also missed a field goal… as in he didn’t attempt it, the punter did. A halftime report on MNF stated he is working through discomfort. Pine him and look elsewhere.

Jake Elliott (PHI) and Randy Bullock (TEN) could see a lot of the game from the sideline… best seats in the house are on the pine, make sure they are there for your lineups too.

DL — Do not drop Nick Bosa (SF) or Quinnen Williams (NYJ). Simply put them on the pine this week and you will have a top 10 plug, play, no worries DL for the rest of the season. J. Clowney (CLE) is an IDP favorite, pine him this week against Murray.

LB — As much as it pains me to write it, Pine Bobby Wagner (SEA)… blasphemy I know, but his bruised knee seems severe. Even with more rest he did not practice Wednesday . It was obvious on the tape that he was not moving like he was prior to the injury. Chandler Jones (ARI) is on COVID protocol and Cory Littleton (LV) is dealing with injuries. Pine them both.

DBMalcolm Jenkins (NO) has the 3rd most points thus far. if you have the room stash him and have a starting DB for the rest of the season, including the massive week 7 bye week that is coming. Byron Murphy (ARI) is coming off an injury and will not see the pass volume he has in other weeks.

Week 5 was good to the #PlayorPine let’s hope we do it again for week 6!
